How Luenaa researches, writes, and reviews its content — honestly, credibly, and independently.

Trust is the only thing that makes a beauty publication worth reading. This page explains how we research, write, review, and maintain everything on Luenaa — and how we keep our content honest, credible, and independent.

How we choose what to cover

We write about the real questions readers have: which products are actually worth the money, how to build a routine you'll keep, how to decode an ingredient list, and how to do makeup that looks like you on a normal morning. Ideas come from reader questions, our own testing, and the patterns we see people struggle with again and again. We do not chase trends or stoke insecurities for traffic's sake.

How we research and write

Every article is written or edited by a named member of our team. Our work is evidence-informed: we lean on cosmetic science, ingredient research, recognised dermatological guidance, and first-hand testing — then we translate it into plain language you can actually use. Claims that depend on findings are linked to their source, and we try to be honest when the evidence is mixed, early, or uncertain rather than overstating it.

Honest, gentle, non-hype content

We hold every draft to a simple standard: is this honest, useful, and kind? We avoid hype, fearmongering, and the promise that one product will change your life. We favour simple routines over twelve-step ones, we're happy to tell you when something isn't worth buying, and we'd rather under-promise and genuinely help than over-promise and let you down. If a piece would only make a reader feel insecure, it does not run.

Care with skin and health topics

Beauty often brushes up against health, and we treat that responsibility seriously. Luenaa shares general cosmetic and self-care information, not medical or dermatological advice, and we say so clearly. We routinely remind readers to patch-test new products and to see a board-certified dermatologist for skin or hair concerns that are persistent, painful, or serious — and we note that individual results vary. See our disclaimer for the full statement.

Our use of AI tools

Our articles are written and edited by people. We may use software for spell-checking, research, or suggesting outlines, but a human writer is responsible for the substance, accuracy, and final wording of everything we publish. We do not publish auto-generated content.

Independence and advertising

Luenaa is funded by advertising and, occasionally, affiliate links. To protect your trust:

  • We never accept payment to praise a product or to feature it in editorial content, and we do not promote miracle products or pay-for-placement.
  • Advertising is clearly distinguishable from articles.
  • Affiliate relationships never change our verdict — see our disclaimer for the full disclosure.

Corrections

We get things wrong sometimes, and when we do, we fix them quickly and transparently. If you spot an error or an out-of-date detail — a reformulated product, a changed price — email [email protected] or use our contact form. Substantive corrections are noted on the article.

Updates

Because products and research evolve, we revisit popular articles and refresh them. When a piece is meaningfully updated, the publication date reflects the most recent revision.
